The Vine

As children of God, thru Jesus Christ, we are asked by our Heavenly Father to bear fruit.  In John 15:1-2 Jesus says “ I am the true vine, and My Father is the vinedresser. Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit He takes away; and every branch that bears fruit He prunes, that it may bear more fruit”. There are many ways we, as Christians can bear fruit. We can volunteer at a local homeless shelter, feed the poor, clothe the needy, etc. We can also volunteer at our church, maybe your pastor needs help cleaning the church, or perhaps you could bring in some cups, paper plates, and plastic silverware. Maybe you could help set up or tear down at the next event that happens at your church. The point is there are many ways to bear fruit for God. For me it is this blog because I am able to share God’s word with potentially millions of people. But the easiest way to bear fruit is simply to love others as God has loved us. Because when you truly know Christ as your Savior you want to do those other things. So today show an act of kindness to someone, pay for the meal of the person behind you at the fast food place today. You could let someone ahead of you at the bank, or tell someone they are beautiful. Give someone a hug, what ever you decide to do just remember to do it in love because you never know when you may be entertaining angels. God bless and have a kind day.
