This is an excerpt from an article written by Michael Snyder from prophecynewswatch.Com. “The name of the article is Upside Down: Pope Francis Discourages Evangelism, Kanye West Preaching Gospel”. I want to say I have not done any research for myself about what the Pope did or did not say, but this excerpt really hit home with me. Because for me it is the truth, we live in perilous times and I haven’t seen one wealthy, famous person who was truly happy. We see it everyday in the news about famous people losing money, going to jail, going to rehab for drug addiction, etc. and you hear people that don’t have money saying “If I had money I wouldn’t do that”. Yes you would because true happiness only comes from God. I use to be that person who thought “if only”. It wasn’t until I committed my life to God that I found true happiness. I’m not perfect, I still don’t have money, my health isn’t were I want it to be due to an automobile accident , my husband, who is the sole provider, has to have surgery for a torn rotator cuff and will be off work for at least six weeks, and I take care of my 86 year old father n law who is in a wheelchair and yet I am thankful because through all of this I know God will never leave us. We want for nothing we have food, clothing, and a roof over our head, and our bills still get paid. No we aren’t monetarily rich, but God said in Matthew 6:19 “Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal.” Do I get angry, sad, and fustrated of course I do, I’m not perfect but I am forgiven and God’s Grace is renewed daily. I found true peace, the peace that surpasses all understanding, when I accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior. You can have that peace too, all you have to do is seek God, and ask His Son Jesus Christ into your heart and believe that you are saved by grace through faith. when you have done this tell someone and find a Bible believing, grace believing, Spirit Filled church that can guide you and teach you about our Lord and Savior. I’m not saying your life will get easier but you will have the peace that surpasses all understanding to help you through it.

We have to strive to stop being angry because it keeps us in a constant state of worry that will gradually wear away at the armor of God that we put on to protect ourselves. It will allow the enemy a foot hold to reek havoc in your life. The enemy can use people, places, and things to make you angry so that you take your eyes off of Jesus and what His plan for us is. If you have a sharp tongue and use it in anger against someone you are promoting wickedness which is the opposite of what God’s word teaches us. We are to speak in love, to lift others up and show the love of Christ. Proverbs 15:1 says ” A soft answer turns away wrath, But a harsh word stirs up anger.” and Proverbs 15:4 says ” A wholesome tongue is a tree of life, But Perverseness in it breaks the spirit.” So the next time someone makes you angry instead of lashing out with hurtful words stop and pray for God to give you the words to say in that moment so the love of Christ shows through you.

Nevertheless I have this against you, that you have left your first love.

Have you left your first love? That was a question that I was asked at a woman’s Bible study I attend. I didn’t like the answer I had because I had left my first love. God was my first love I accepted His Son, Jesus, when I was 10 years old and I remember very vividly never going anywhere without my Bible. I was constantly reading, praying and telling people about Jesus Christ, a man that loved me so much that he died on a cross for me. When I thought about that it truly saddened me because I realized that I had left my first love. When most people read that verse they read it as they “lost” their first love. You don’t lose your first love you may turn your back on Him or walk away from Him but you don’t lose Him. God is a patient God, He is a loving God and He will wait for you to return. I know because it took me many years to come back to Him and He was there with open arms. He forgave me when I certainly didn’t deserve it and He loved on me as if I was the most precious daughter He had and God will do the same for you. So ask yourself, have I left my first love?, and if the answer is yes turn back to Him, He is waiting patiently for your return because He loves you with all of His heart and you are very precious to Him.
